9 to 10 AM: Holy Mass at the chapel by St. Anne's Church. Traditionally believed that the church stands on the spot where Anne and Joachim, the parents of the Virgin Mary, lived.

7 to 8 AM: Breakfast at Hotel.

Day 17: Friday Jan. 16
7 PM to 4 AM: Twelve men got permission to spend these hours in an "All-Night" Vigil at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

NOTE: Custody of the Church has been the cause of fierce disputes, lasting centuries. Ownership is divided between Armenians, Greeks, Copts, Roman Catholics, Ethiopians, and Syrians. EVERY DAY, the church is unlocked by a Muslim keyholder acting as a "neutral" intermediary. This has been performed by a member of the same family for several generations.
5:30 PM: Evening Prayer - practice homily and dinner at the Hotel.
2 PM: Emmaus Church.
1:30 PM: Church of Notre Dame de l'Arche de l'Alliance. Said to occupy the site of the house of Abinadab, where the Ark of the Covenant rested for 20 years before David took it to Jerusalem.

HOLY SITES: The Church has granted permission to celebrate the Liturgical Feast according to the events of the Holy Sites of the Holy Land. Thus, at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre - at the empty tomb - we celebrated Easter!
Tomorrow, Sunday Jan. 18, we visit Bethlehem, so we will be celebrating Christmas!
