Day 2: Jaffa-University of Tel Aviv

Greetings from the Theology III class! Day 2 in Israel. A full day! It is now 5:50 PM local time.

Day in Review:

6 to 8:30 AM:  Men began to rise early in the morning.  A couple of us headed to the shore of the Mediterranean to pray with the sunrise. Most were up for a nice breakfast provided at the hotel. Before loading on the coach bus, some more men took advantage of the mild breeze and sun and prayed on the shore outside the hotel as locals were heading out to surf.

9 to 10:15 AM:  We boarded our coach bus and headed just a few minutes to Jaffa.  Historically Jaffa is one of the oldest ports of the world.  Jaffa is referred to often in the OT as well as NT.  The prophet Jonah is said to have set sail from the Jaffa Port; in the NT testament, most prominent in the Vision of St. Peter (Acts 10:1-48) which took place on the Roof of the house belonging to Simon the Tanner.  In this Vision God gave Peter the provision and green light for approving the eating of bacon.

We began the morning here with celebrating Mary, Mother of God with Holy Mass as a group.
