From Jaffa we got back in the coach and headed to the University of Tel-Aviv. There we met Dr. Mario - a faculty member of the Archaeology Department. Our afternoon included 2 full classroom lectures; a tour in the department; and lunch.
11 to 1:30 PM: We met in the Pottery Collection room. After a basic introduction to the Archaeology Department and Program, and some background info. on Archaeology, Dr. Mario gave a presentation on Egypt and Israel: Archaeology of the Exodus. Next we got a quick look at the lab where clay shards and archaeological finds are restored and pieced together.
1:30 to 2:30 PM: We enjoyed a nice lunch on campus at a cafe.
2:45 to 4:45 PM: Part II of the Archaeology of the Exodus presentation.
5 PM: Back to the hotel.
6:15 PM: Prayed Evening Prayer as a group.
6:30 PM: Dinner as a group at the hotel.
Rest of the evening free.
Tomorrow we will be packing up and checking out of Tel-Aviv by 7:30 AM. NEXT UP: Caesarea; Mt. Carmel - Elijah's Cave, and staying at Haifa - Carmelite Center. ALSO: Seminarians will begin delivering their practice homilies to their classmates during Evening Prayer.
